The previous week, end users complained that a customer email was going to their quarantine mailbox. Co-worker, instead of whitelisting the domain or the specific email address, the tech blocked the sender’s customer email. On Monday, July 16, another ticket came in. This time, the domain was whitelisted. On Tuesday, the customer said again that the email was blocked. They looked up the routing rules in IronPort and found the two conflicting rules.
Friday, July 20, 2024 – CrowdStrike
A recap of the week Whoops-ie’s would not be completed if I didn’t mention CrowdStrike and the global outage they caused. The issue was due to the faulty update in file 291, which had a bad memory configuration when it was writing to the OS, causing the system to bluescreen.
